Patty Lou Lyons, 74, of Elkhart, died at 6:10 am, Saturday, October 11, 2014 surrounded by family. Patty was born on November 16, 1939 in Elkhart, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth (Cripe) Oakes. On September 15, 1960, she married Dale E. Lyons. He passed away on December 11, 2004. Patty is survived by three daughters, Carrie Lyons of St. Paul, IN, Debora (Dan) Myers of Elkhart, and Samantha (Russ) Johnson of Noblesville and a son, Dale Lyons of Elkhart; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Cynthia (Ray) Good of Elkhart and Shirley (Charles) Riggs of Goshen and two brothers, Carlos (Charlene) Hoover of Warsaw and Rex (Linda) Hoover of Sturgis, MI. She is preceded in death by three grandsons, Daniel Myers, Jr., Tyler Johnson and Owen Johnson and one brother, Edward Oakes. Patty was a devoted member of Bethel Assembly of God, Elkhart. She worked for Siemens for 22 years before her retirement in 2009. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 16, 2014 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
