Pauline Galen Chester, 91, of Elkhart passed away peacefully at 7:41 pm, Thursday, September 1, 2011 in her home. Pauline was born on November 25, 1919, the daughter of the late Earl and Vada Flauding. She married Thomas McCoy Chester on September 29, 1940. He passed away on February 17, 2006. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, P. Laurali Smith, two sisters, Helen Gray and Betty Eger and a great grandson, Anthony Lee Howard.
Pauline is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Phillip) True of Elkhart and Nancy (Thomas) Lewandowski of Mishawaka. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for Elkhart Community Schools, from which she retired in 1984. She was a member of La Lache Turba, Elkhart Community School Retired Secretary''s, and Faith United Methodist Church, Elkhart.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, Sept 7, 2011 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
