Phillip Stemes Jr., of Elkhart, IN, loving husband and father of two children passed away at 83.

He was born July 5, 1936 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Phillip and Madeline (Michele) Stemes. He attended Mishawaka High School graduating in 1955. Phil the enlisting enlisted into the United States Navy serving 1956-1960. After the Navy, he was a longtime Barber in Mishawaka. On July 26, 1969 he married Sharon Tea Wolford. He has two sons, Jeff and Michael. Phil had a deep passion for cars and especially loved his Corvettes.

Phil is survived by his wife Sharon of 50 years; his two sons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Stemes and Michael (Melissa) Stems; granddaughter, Megan (Nathan) Fry; two great grand children, Emma and Noah.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
