Phyllis F. Griffin, 85, of Elkhart, passed away at 8:55 pm, Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in the Hospice House of Elkhart. Phyllis was born on December 16, 1924 in Long Branch, New Jersey. On August 17, 1946 in Fishers Island, NY, she married Walter F. Griffin, Jr. He passed away on September 20, 1994.
She is survived by six children, Walter F. Griffin, III and significant other, Michelle Cashion of Clinton, NY, Wayne (Nancy) Griffin of Waterford, CT, Gary A. (Tina) Griffin of Columbus, OH, Alan P. (Kim) Griffin of Elkhart, Philip J. (Brenda) Griffin of Elkhart and Joyce (Richard) McFall of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Peggy (Gill) Partch of Marlboro, Mass. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and four sisters.
Phyllis was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Fishers Island, NY and Women of the Moose, Elkhart. Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother enjoyed Bowling, Bingo, Card Games, and hanging out with family. She will be dearly missed by family and friends alike.
There will be no visitation or services. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
