Phyllis L. Miller, 49, of Vandalia, MI, passed away at 10:00 pm, Monday, February 2, 2009 in Elkhart General Hospital after a battle with cancer. Phyllis was born on January 18, 1960 in Elizabethton, TN to Paul and Wyona (Harmon) Proffitt.
Phyllis graduated with honors from Ivy Tech College. She worked as a secretary for Moose Lodge of Goshen for many years and most recently worked as a Department Manager at Elder Beerman''s in Elkhart.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Timothy Miller of Vandalia, MI; two children, Michael (Erica) Ham of West Grove, PA and Patricia (John) Wilson of Quarryville, PA; two grandchildren, Maranda Wilson and Jacob Ham. She is also survived by her father, Paul Proffitt of Mountain City, TN, two sisters, Diana (Doug) White of Elkhart and Karen (Ben) Perkins of Elkhart and one brother, David Proffitt of Elkhart. She is preceded in death by her mother.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2009 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola with services to follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. A funeral service will also be held in New London Presbyterian Church, New London, PA with burial in the New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
