Priscilla Patience Nicholas, 78, of South Bend, died at 1:51 pm, Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Hospice House of South Bend. Priscilla was born on February 21, 1936, in Wabash, IN, the daughter of the late Houston and Rosetta (Slagle) Schaaf. In 1977, she married Jay Nicholas. He died in 2002. Priscilla is survived by nine children, Fred (Deb) Johnson of Warsaw, Sheena Watson of Mishawaka, Kevin Johnson of Ferrell Beach, FL, Carol Chapman of South Bend, David Fruit of Warsaw, Charles (April) Denman of Florence, AL, Jan (Randy) Stalcup of Mishawaka, Joy (Ken) Czarnecki of Granger and Jay (Carol) Nicholas, Jr. of Lake Havasu, AZ; 16 grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Barbara (Louie) Fruit of Warsaw and a brother, Pete Schaaf of Leesburg, IN. She loved spending time with her family and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sisters. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 19, 2014 in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Rev. Michael Pull will officiate. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola is handling arrangements. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Hospice House of South Bend for their care.
