Ray C. Masters, 89, of Mishawaka, passed away at 2:22 pm, Thursday, January 6, 2011 in his home surrounded by family. Ray was born on October 3, 1921 in Antioch, TN to the late Thomas P. and Candace M. (Malone) Masters. On March 4, 1944, he married Juanita E. Cushway, who passed on November 21, 2009. He is also preceded in death by siblings, Homer, Zeb, and William Masters and Flora Vining.
He is survived by two children, Robert (Rosemary) Masters of Middlebury and Sheryl (Bobby) Beckham of Mishawaka; 10 grandchildren, Tony, Troy, Todd, Jim, Kevin, Tara, Brett, Holly, Heather, and Casey; 14 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Thelma Smith of Alton, MO.
He worked as a Truck Driver for Yellow Freight for many years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 364. He had a pilot license and flew as a hobby. He is a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the First General Baptist Church, Osceola. He loved his family and his church family.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, January 9, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am in the funeral home on Monday, January 10, 2011 with Rev. Jewel Hagar officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
