Rebecca Jane Downing, 60, of Goshen, passed away at 11:00 pm, Friday, March 18, 2011. Rebecca was born on August 9, 1950 in Elkhart to the late LeRoy and Helen (Doty) Chandler, Sr. On May 6, 1984, she married Billie J. Downing. He passed away on November 2, 2010.
She is survived by two children, Heather Ryman of Goshen and Shawn Misener of Warsaw; five grandchildren, Travis, Madison, Daniel, Matt, and Jill. She is also survived by a brother, LeRoy (Nancy) Chandler, Jr. of Elkhart and Cindy Trost of Maryland.
Rebecca was a member of the First United Methodist Church Life Extension of Goshen. She worked as a chef in various restaurants, most recently Hopper''s in Goshen. She will be remembered for her love of gardening and her flower beds.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola.
