Mom went to be with angels on Wednesday, January 18 th , 2023 surrounded by many loving family members, after a brief illness. Rebecca Sue (Becky) (Dunning) Morningstar, (74) of South Bend, Indiana, was born on June 11 th , 1948 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Marjorie (Stutsman) Dunning Pawlowski, and Lloyd Dunning. Becky was formerly married to David J. Pawlowski in 1967, and then married Ronald E. Morningstar in Mishawaka on July 11 th , 1987. An interesting yet bittersweet aspect of Becky's history is when in 1967, she married her former husband David, her then father Lloyd passed away in 1973. A year later, David's mother Mary also passed on. Years later, Marjorie accepted David's father's John's date request to "dance the night away", and in 1976, John and Marge tied the knot as husband and wife, relegating Becky's husband, David, to a brother-in-law, as well as husband. Becky is survived by her husband Ronald, twin daughters Andrea (Pawlowski) Konter (Thomas Price), Annette (Pawlowski) Stafford, and son Brian (Carlene Kay) Pawlowski, sister Nancy (David) Truex, brother Ronald (Phyllis) Dunning, grandsons Mason and David, and granddaughters Melissa and Jennifer, and a host of nieces and nephews. Becky is also survived by stepsisters Jeanne (Terry) Baum, Rita Brockie, and Angela De Meester, and stepbrother Edward (Cyndi Staton) Pawlowski, and step- grandchildren Cassie, Lanie, Lexi and Will. Becky is also survived by best friend Mary Stevens. Becky was also Godmother to her niece, Julie Dunning. Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Lloyd, nephews Charles Truex, and Zachary Truex, former husband David J. Pawlowski, and step-brothers Richard (Lynn) Pawlowski, and Robert Pawlowski, (Jackie Meyers). Becky graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1966. She worked at Maple City Bowling Alley, Bonanza, Hedwin, Jo Ann's Fabrics, and she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her friend's children. Becky enjoyed camping and fishing, playing euchre, crafts and sewing, board games and puzzles. Becky loved her family and friends, and they loved her. Visitation will be Tuesday January 24, 2023 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy. Osceola, IN 46561 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Service to follow at 1:00 pm with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
