Reuben L. Mast, 81, of South Bend, passed away at 12:35 am, Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Regency Place Nursing Home, South Bend. Reuben was born on March 27, 1929 in Stoney Point, IN, the son of the late Jonathon and Lucy (Koffman) Mast. On September 2, 1960, he married Virginia D. Mast, who passed away on April 22, 1992. He is also preceded in death by grandson, Justin.
Reuben is survived by two children, Shirley (David) Whitten and Steven (April) Mast, both of South Bend, eight grandchildren, Patrick, Kenneth, Richard, Christopher, Tori, Rachel, Matthew, and Jonathon and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Chester Mast of Nappanee, Ervin Mast of Geneva, IN and Elmer Mast of Mishawaka and two sisters, Verna Newton of Elkhart and Laura Lawson of Niles, MI
Rueben was a member of Christ Temple, South Bend. He worked for AM General for over 23 years before his retirement.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm, Sunday, February 13, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 14, 2011 in the funeral home with entombment to follow in the Nativity Mausoleum on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola
