Granger, Indiana – Rhonda Lynn Devine, 69, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Bell Tower Health and Rehab, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with several health issues.
Rhonda was born on December 14, 1956, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late Neil and Patricia (Owen) Johnson. She met the love of her life, Jeffrey Devine, and the two were united in marriage on November 22, 1999. Jeffrey preceded her in death in 2015. She was also preceeded in death by a sister in law, Charlotte Prescott Johnson.
Rhonda was a devoted member of Christian Center Church. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and loved gardening, playing bingo, arts and crafts, coloring, puzzles, word finds, and singing karaoke. A true diva at heart, Rhonda enjoyed dressing up, making others laugh, and bringing fun and excitement wherever she went. Her vibrant personality, kind heart, and loving spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Above all, Rhonda treasured her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest happiness came from spending time with those she loved.
She is survived by her children, Joshua “Muttsy” Mariner, Anthony “Bones” Mariner, Mandy "Mandikins" Mariner, and Karen “KK” Mariner; her cherished grandchildren, Megan, Kailey, Elnora, Caleb, Leonya, and Johnny; and her siblings, Patrick Johnson, Helen Gritt (Tom), John Johnson (Debbie), Karen Petty, and Mark Johnson (Kristen).
In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jeffrey Devine.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rhonda’s life at a special “Rhonda Party” on Thursday, June 4, at 12:30 p.m., with a blessing prayer at 2:00 p.m. The celebration will be held in the Activities Room at Bell Tower Health and Rehab, where Rhonda made many friends and was deeply loved by residents and staff alike.
