Obituary

Richard "Dick" Eugene Cabanaw, Jr., 55, of Mishawaka, departed this life at 11:55 pm, Thursday, May 26, 2011 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Dick was born on August 4, 1955 in Mishawaka, the son of Richard E. and Charlotte (Ready) Cabanaw.
He is survived by three sisters, Becky (Dennis) Beasley, Vicki Cabanaw, Tina (Jesus) Miramontes and one brother, John (Amy) Cabanaw, all of Mishawaka. He had five nieces, Natalie, Chrissy, Lori, Brandi, Misty, and Gracie; four nephews, Brian, Eric, Roy and Robert; five great nieces, Kolie, Gabriella, Emily, Peyton, and Mariah; four great nephews, Kaleb, Lucas, Kyle and Joseph and one great great nephew, Lonnie. He is also survived by his aunt, Elva Barsoda of Mishawaka. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Dick served in the U.S. Army for two years and traveled to many places while serving. He worked at Sampco of Indiana for 10 years and also did many odd jobs on the side. He spent a great deal of his life bartending, playing cards and enjoying time at the Blue Chip Casino with family and friends.
There will be no services but a private family memorial will be set at a later date. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
