Richard "Dick" Maurice Harrell, 70, of Granger, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 5:00 pm in his home. Richard was born in Chicago on February 14, 1942, the son of the late Maurice and Kay (Reed) Harrell. On August 21, 1964, he married Betty J. Caldwell. She passed away on June 22, 2011.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra K. (Patrick) Carrico of South Bend and Cheryl A. (Fred) Bradley of Wakarusa; five grandchildren, Angela J. (Rich) Thornton, Jon M. (Helen) Calvin, Brooke N. (Bart) Shaw, Nicolas D. (Kasi) Bradley, and Ryan A. (Nikki) Bradley; 10 great grandchildren, Kyle R. (Katie) Thornton, Kody K. Thornton, Zachary W. Calvin, Hannah N. Calvin, Arianna E. Calvin, Michael A. Calvin, Bryce J. Shaw, Camden B. Shaw, Emmerson J. Bradley and Baylin G. Bradley, and one great great granddaughter, Aggie R. Thornton. He is also survived by seven siblings, Vernon "Mick" Harrell of Florida, Sandra Skipper of Florida, Patricia Green of Kalamazoo, MI, Diane Sorrells of South Bend, Billie Gail Sorrells of Washington, Paula Peterson of Oregon, and Tom Sorrells of Utah, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 pm, Thursday, October 4, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. James Bartlett officiating. Entombment will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
