Richard J. Barth, 95, formerly of South Bend, died Saturday July 8, 2017 in Birmingham AL. Richard was born February 2, 1922 to Arthur & Stacy Barth; he was a US Army veteran of WWII and was a retired pattern maker. On October 9, 1948, Richard married Norma Jean (Pare) Barth in St. Hedwig Catholic Church in South Bend and they were blessed with 65 years of marriage. Norma Jean was born March 2, 1926 to John & Adelaide Pare and died on March 12, 2015 at 89 years of age. Richard & Norma Jean were members of Christ the King Catholic Church. After retirement, Richard & Norma Jean moved to Birmingham to be closer to family. They are survived by their children, Richard D. "Rick" (Pat) Barth of Phoenix AZ , John (Cindy) Barth of Birmingham AL and their grandchildren, Kara Barth of New York City, Daniel Barth of Phoenix and John, James & Stephanie Barth, all of Birmingham. Richard & Norma Jean will be interred together with a graveside service at 10:30 Saturday August 5, 2017, in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
