South Bend, IN- Richard E. Stanton, age 86, passed away on January 20, 2019 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.

He was born August 30, 1932 in South Bend, Indiana to the late John and Zelma Buck Stanton. Richard was inducted into the United States Army in December of 1952 and served during the Korean War. On August 2, 1952 Richard married Esther Runyan and with this happy union was blessed with three children. He enjoyed fishing, being at the cottage, and spending time with family.

Richard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Esther Stanton of South Bend, IN; daughter, Sandra Barnard of South Bend, IN; sons, Barry (Melissa) Stanton of Warsaw, IN and Bruce (Mary) Stanton of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Katie, Amanda and Elizabeth; great grandsons, Aidan and Devin; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Stanton of Granger, IN.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Stanton.
