Richard J. Taylor, 92, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away Saturday, July 24th, at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle.

Richard was born in Greencastle, Indiana on January 6, 1929 to Samuel and Elizabeth (VanLandingham) Taylor.    Richard joined the Army one day after turning 17 in 1946.  He then joined the Air Force when it was officially founded in 1947 where he served as an air tower controller in the Philippines. On August 25, 1951 he married Patricia Handley, who survives.

He enjoyed gardening, especially tomatoes, mushroom hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his son, Richard W Taylor of Osceola, Indiana, and daughter, Diane (Tim) Chapman of Niles Michigan.

He was preceded in death by infant sons Kenneth and Steven; infant daughter Connie Sue; his parents; brothers, Don Taylor, Norman Taylor, Robert Taylor, and Bill Taylor; sisters, Frances Taylor, Viola Hunter, Betty Parrish, and Mary Josephine Taylor.

Graveside Military Honors will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 1PM at Chapel Hill Memory Gardens 10776 McKinley Hwy Osceola, IN
