Rob A. Birky, age 43, of Elkhart, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2012 at Elkhart General Hospital following a brief illness. Rob was born Jan. 18, 1969 in Goshen to Mervin P. and Nancy (Corpe) Birky. He was employed for over 14 years at Homan Lumber Mart in Elkhart.
Surviving is his wife of 19 years, Gail (Lee) Birky and his mother, Nancy Birky, both of Elkhart, and his children Stacy Birky, and Devontay Flores, of Elkhart, Robby Birky of Indiana, Michael Paul (fianc Heather Black) Dawson of Constantine, MI, Jean (Raul) Duran and Sharon (Luis) Coca both of Elkhart. Also surviving are his siblings, Kip (Karla) Birky, Kim (Shawn) Swartz, and Tonya Birky, along with 15 grandchildren and his "best friend," his dog Tray. Preceding Rob in death was his father, his daughter Lisa Ann Henning, and his granddaughter Lily Ann Dawson.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 3:00 pm funeral service on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola.
In his memory, donations may be made to AIDS Ministries in South Bend.
