Robert Lester Krier, 77, of Goshen, passed away at Hospice House of Elkhart County on
Saturday, March 15, 2014. Robert was born April 4, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI to the late
Ernest and Anna (Jacoby) Krier. On Sept. 24, 1966, he married Barbara Branchick in
Elkhart.
Barbara survives, along with their daughters Susan E. Krier, MD of Fishers, and
Deborah J. Krier of Seattle, as well as their "daughter of the heart" Carol J. Mann, MD.
Also surviving is his grandson, Matthew Robert Krier Mozingo of Fishers. Robert is also
survived by his siblings Marvin Krier, Tom (Diane) Krier, Bette (Dave) Hucke, brother in
law, Jim DeBoth and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
brothers LeRoy (Sylvia) Krier, Wesley Krier, sister Marilyn DeBoth, and sister in law
Ruth Krier.
Robert obtained his BS from Maryknoll College, Glen Ellyn, IL, followed by one
year at Novitiate, Bedford, MA and 3 years at Maryknoll Seminary, Ossining, NY. Bob
retired after many years as an insurance adjustor. He was an honest and kind man who
went above and beyond what was necessary to ensure those he served received the full
benefits due them. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed reading and was a
lifelong learner.
Bob attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Goshen. He was a
devout and dedicated Christian, who lived his faith daily, leading by example.
There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on
Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, with interment to
follow.
