Robert E. McDonald Jr., age 60 of South Bend, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 at his home. Bob was born August 9, 1952 to the late Robert and Pearl (Carter) McDonald in Mishawaka, Indiana. On March 17, 1980, Bob married Sally Piraccini. They were married 32 years.

Sally survives, along with their daughter, Stephanie Turnbow of South Bend and his grandsons Scott and J.D. Turnbow. Also surviving are his sisters Sharon Grimm of Rochester, Indiana and Lynn Baker of Elkhart, Indiana. Bob was preceded in death by his brother Bruce McDonald.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Bob was a graduate of Mishawaka High School. He then enlisted in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged. Bob had worked for the past 25 years as a Commercial Account Specialist with WESCO in Elkhart. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 360, and loved spending time with his grandsons fishing, watching movies, bowling and restoring his 1957 Chevy Truck. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
