Robert B. Hamma, age 76, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Mishawaka of natural causes. Robert was born January 11, 1935 in Dowagiac, Michigan. Bob served his country for over 20 years as a Marine before his retirement and honorable discharge in 1982. He then drove a tow truck for many years until his retirement as a civilian. He and his wife Donna enjoyed 10 years of retirement in Manchester, Tennessee before moving back to Mishawaka 5 years ago. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, as well as a member of the First General Baptist Church of Osceola.
Surviviors include his wife, Donna G. Hamma of Mishawaka and his children, Steven Hamma and Karla Malone, both in Arizona; step-children, Bobby E. Baker and Deborah S. (Clyde) Owens, both of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and his brothers, Dennis and Jerry Shirtz. He was preceded in death by his first wife; his son, Michael Hamma and step-son, Richard Baker.
Funeral Services 2:00 Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway. Friends may call Thursday 12-2pm in the funeral home. Entombment with Military Honors in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens following the service. In Bob's memory, donations may be given to the Humane Society, or the VFW.
