Robert Joseph Jean, 59, of Goshen, went to be with the Lord at 1:30 am, Friday, March 18, 2011 in Elkhart General Hospital, surrounded by family. Robert was born on January 25, 1952 in South Bend to Arthur and Lila (Batchelder) Jean.
Mr. Jean is survived by his mother, Lila Jean of Elkhart, brother, Thomas A. (June) Jean of Anchorage, AK, four sisters, Susan (Jerry) Rowe of Elkhart, Terri (Steve) Hupp of Elkhart, Kathi Waugh of South Bend and Cindy (Marc) Miller of Bristol; four nephews, four nieces, four great nephews and one great niece.
Robert was a member of the First General Baptist Church, Osceola. He was also a member of the Aktion Club. Thru ADEC, he participated in the Special Olympics, and loved to play basketball, softball, and bowling.
Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 21, 2011 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Rev. Jewel Hagar, pastor of the First General Baptist Church, will officiate.
