Obituary

MISHAWAKA-Robert "Bob" Kime 93, passed away Monday morning at Sanctuary at Holy Cross. He was born to Jay W. and Dorothy(Hite) Kime in Mishawaka October 12,1922. Kime proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. After coming back from the Army he joined Indiana Bell Telephone where he worked as a lineman. He stayed in the Michiana area his entire life. He was a member of Northway Church of Christ where he served as an elder and also taught Sunday school for many years. Bob loved kids and all kids loved him. Bob loved to golf, especially even more after his retirement; he also enjoyed taking long walks and reading western and religious books. Bob was a member of the Pioneer club at the telephone company. He also traveled all over the country joining up with his old Army Platoon buddies having reunions. Nothing was more important to Bob than his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He married Donna(Wynn) August 11, 1943 and together they would raise four children. Bob is survived by son, Rob(Dixie) Kime Jr, Selingsgrove, PA, daughters, Linda(George) Bond, Niles, MI, Luanne Zehring, Mishawaka, IN,seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, brother, William Kime and sister, Shirley Kime he is also survived by long time friend Carmen Ringel. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, daughter, Laura (Jerry) Feece, formerly of Niles, MI, three sisters, Laura Conway, Norma Taylor, Dorothy Kizer. A gathering of friends and family will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be Friday, March 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm with a one hour prior visitation at the funeral home with full Military Honors and Minister Chuck Wotring officiating. A private burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert Kimes memory to Northway Church of Christ, 19525 Auten Road, South Bend, IN 46637
