SOUTH BEND - Robert Lottie, 90, of South Bend, Indiana, departed this life on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born on February 13, 1923, in Widener, Arkansas, to the union of Jessie Lottie, Sr., and Lillie Richardson Lottie. Robert enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Robert married Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Winston, and to this union was born one daughter, Trina. Robert worked at Studebaker Automobile Company and at Indiana University, where he retired. Robert was a member of the Chain-O-Lakes Congregation of the Jehovah''s Witness of South Bend, Indiana. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Lottie; his daughter, Trina Winston; one stepson, William Winston; his parents, Jessie and Lillie Lottie; two brothers, Jessie, Jr., and Theodis Lottie, and one sister, Sarah Lottie-Wofford. Robert leaves to cherish fond memories, four stepchildren: Sheila (John) Redding, Cecelia Bronson, Traci Williams and Anthony (Mellisa) Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Tyana (Rayan), Tenii, and Tetra; and six great grandchildren; two brothers: Oscar Lottie of South Bend, IN, Adolph (Sylvia) Lottie of Hazel Crest, IL, and one sister, Viola (Joseph) Taylor of South Bend, IN, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. A special thanks to the staff of West Bend Nursing Center and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Robert Lottie will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and service at 2:00 p.m. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
