Obituary

Robert O. Peterson, 82, of Mishawaka, died at 2:25 am, Saturday, October 25, 2014 in his home. Bob was born on July 4, 1932, the son of the late Orville and Marguerite (Spanglehaur) Peterson. On December 14, 1957, he married Dorothy Turner. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy; three children, David Peterson of South Bend, Dean (Angelina) Peterson of Palatine, IL and Robyn Boggs of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Glenn Peterson, Matthew Boggs, Kathryn Boggs, and Meghan Boggs and one great granddaughter, Samantha Peterson. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Carol) Peterson of Rolling Prairie, IN. Bob graduated from Rolling Prairie High School and attended Ball State University before being called to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Joy Manufacturing as a traffic manager for many years before his retirement in 1989. Bob was an active member of the Osceola United Methodist Church, where he belonged to the Promise Keepers. He also belonged to the Moose Lodge of Elkhart, Michiana Traffic Club and Delta Nu Alpha. Bob was a great inspiration to all and a role model to his family. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Osceola United Methodist Church, 431 N. Beech Road, Osceola with one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola with full military honors.
