Robert L. Sample, age 64, of Osceola, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Elkhart General Hospital following a brief illness. Robert was born December 8, 1945 in New Castle, Indiana to Chester and Virginia (Fridley) Sample. On May 1, 1995, he married Cassandra Bryan in South Bend, Indiana.
Cassandra survives, along with their children, Joseph Sample of Round Rock, TX, Richard (Michelle) Sample of Elkhart, IN, William (Roseanna) Sample of Valencia, CA, Morgana (Daniel) Uselton of Mishawaka, IN, Cassidy (Jennifer) Bryan of South Bend, IN, and Joseph Becker of Denton, TX. Bob is also survived by his mother Virginia Sample, his twin brother, William Sample of Anderson, IN, and his sister, Carolyn Sample of Osceola, IN. Surviving as well are 9 grandchildren; Megan Sample, Madeline Sample, Makenzie Uselton, Nicholas Sample, Ethan Bryan, Nathaniel Sample, David Bryan, Bailey Bryan, and Austin Bryan. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester and his brother, Michael Sample.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 5:00 pm Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola.
Bob served his country in the United States Air Force for many years before his honorable discharge in 1972. Afterwards, Bob attended Moorpark College in Moorpark, California where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Business Management. He worked for many years as a restaurant manager, and loved to cook. He also loved fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren, but Bob''s true passion was his love for the Chicago Cubs. He was a devoted and loyal fan since childhood.
