Robert H. Thibodeaux Sr. , 95, of Niles, died Sunday August 2, 2020 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.  Robert was born December 28, 1924 in Branch, LA, the son of (the late) Philogen & Azamie (Fruge) Thibodeaux. Robert was a WWII veteran and proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. In 1949, he married Betty J. (McGrew) Thibodeaux; she preceded him in death in 2010 after 60 years of marriage.  Robert retired from Bendix Corp. after 38 years there and was a member of (the former) River Park Tabernacle Church, now Michiana Community Church and was an avid reader of the Bible and enjoyed Bible studies. Robert was also a member of AmVets (American Veterans) and he enjoyed the time he spent with family & friends. In addition to Betty, Robert was also preceded in death by an infant son, Darrell; a daughter, Jean Krueger; brothers, Cliff Douch, Joe Douch and Jim Thibodeaux and his sisters, Willabelle Peridon & Beatrice Martin. Robert is survived by his son, Robert H. (Carolyn) Thibodeaux, Jr. of Niles; his daughters, Gloria Tesch of Stoneville NC and Cathy Thibodeaux of Niles; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services 2:00 Saturday August 8, 2020 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Visitation is Saturday from 1-2pm in the funeral home.
