SPRINGFIELD, MI – Robert W. Topping, age 83, formally of Elkhart, IN passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at his home.

He was born on October 11, 1935 to the late Leland and Ethel (Kendrick) Topping. Robert was inducted into the United States Army. He worked in housekeeping for 36 years at Elkhart General until he retired. Robert enjoyed watching movies, country music, spending time with his family, eating potato chips and drinking Pepsi.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon Topping of Elkhart, IN; sons, Michael Topping of Elkhart, IN, and Matthew Topping of New Zealand; special nephew/son, Charles Topping of Springfield, MI; 5 grandchildren; brother, Sherman Topping of Battle Creek, MI; sister, Barbara Topping of Dowagiac, MI; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Topping; sons, Edward Topping and Terry Topping; parents; siblings, Harold Topping, Charlie Topping, and Mary Forstriea.

Funeral will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 Mckinley Hwy., Osceola, IN. Friends may visit from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service.
