In Loving Memory of Robert D. White
November 17, 1941 – April 12, 2025

Robert D. White, 83, of Mishawaka, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 12, 2025, following a brief illness. He passed peacefully at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Waterloo, Alabama on November 17, 1941, to the late Arnold and Dorothy (Rogers) White, Robert was also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Powell.

In his youth, Robert moved to South Bend and was proud to be a member of the first graduating class of Penn High School in 1960. On February 25, 1961, he married the love of his life, Sue (Heavner) White, at South Bend Christ Temple. Together they built a life of love, faith, and family that spanned more than six decades.

A devoted member of Ironwood United Pentecostal Church, Robert lived his life grounded in faith and kindness. He retired from Cequent as a skilled tool and die maker. Robert had a deep love for his grandchildren, a passion for fishing and yard work, and a special fondness for his John Deere equipment, his Coca-Cola collection, and classic John Wayne Westerns.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Sue White; their children, Rita Stout and Robert White Jr., both of Mishawaka; and his cherished grandchildren: Kayla (Adam) Akers of Sanford, NC, Maddie Stout of Mishawaka, and Gracie White and Julie White.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, April 16, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Ironwood United Pentecostal Church, 4609 Ironwood Dr., South Bend, IN 46614. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM at the church. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.

Arrangements are entrusted to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, Osceola, IN.
