Obituary

Rodney "Big Rod" Dee Cowsert, age 44, of Osceola, passed away at Memorial Hospital of South Bend on Friday, September 25, 2009 after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Rodney was born May 1, 1965 in South Bend to Frank and Patricia (Pugh) Cowsert. His mother, Pat, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his father, Frank of Osceola, his son, Tyler Cowsert of Mishawaka, his brother, Mickie (Gail) Cowsert of Granger, and his sister, Tammie (Jamie) Shock of Granger. Rodney is also survived by one niece, 5 nephews, and 1 great niece. Rodney is also survived by his girlfriend, Jeanette Taylor of Mishawaka.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 pm Monday, September 28, 2009 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral Services will begin at 5:00 pm following the visitation hours on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Chapel Hill.
Rodney was employed by Cowsert Septic for many years as an excavator. He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, four-wheelers and spending time on the lake boating and tubing. Rodney''s friends were very important in his life, and he enjoyed riding his motorcycles in fundraisers for charity, especially the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
In his memory, contributions may be made to the MDA at 314 Catalpa St. Office "F", Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.
