Petoskey, MI-Rolland Hickman, 91 passed away Saturday evening at the Villa at the Bay in Petoskey. He was born to Jacob and Ethel (Smith) Hickman in Petoskey, MI. Rolland was very proud to have served as a Corporal in the United States Air Force. He had been a production worker for the Bendix Corporation for 36 years until his retirement in 1986. Rolland was also a special member of the Special Police of Mishawaka, and the Fraternal Order of Police for over 25 years. He also served in the Salvation Army, Mishawaka as Corps Sergeant Major Officer. He was a proud member of the DAV and VFW Post 360, Mishawaka and the Local 9 UAW. He married Hazel Hickman who preceded him in death. Later he married Margaret Hickman who also preceded him in death. He survived by sister, Rosalene Billings, and nephew Dan (Kathy) Warner and many other nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Herbert, John, Jim, sisters, Lula Schalppi and Nina Daniels. May Dunshie.
Friends and family may call from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Nephew Ed Warner officiating with full military honors. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN Memorial contributions can be made to donor''s choice in Rolland's memory.
