IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Dean
Schlarb
October 12, 1936 – May 20, 2024
Ronald Dean Schlarb, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 20th. Born to Robert and Emma Schlarb, Ronnie lived a life marked by love, adventure, and dedication to his family.
Throughout his 50-year journey as a semi-truck driver, Ronnie was not alone; his beloved late wife and co-captain, Helen Schlarb, accompanied him, forming an inseparable team. His passion for the open road was matched only by his love for his family.
Ronnie was a man of many hobbies and interests. From his fascination with trains to his knack for tinkering with hit-and-miss engines, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He shared these passions with his grandchildren, often delighting them with his impressive train set or exploring antique tractor and engine shows together on weekends.
Outside of his hobbies, Ronnie cherished moments spent camping at Foxwoods Hills Campground, creating lasting memories with his family under the stars.
Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his children: daughters Ronda Conner (husband John Conner), and Shelly Habic, and sons Robert Schlarb (wife Christine Schlarb), Jerry Dawson, Danny Dawson, and Stephen Dawson, and was preceded in death by Lonnie Dawson.
Ronnie's legacy continues through his 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold him dear in their hearts. His kindness, generosity, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Ronnie's life will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN on Saturday May 25,2024 at 1 PM. Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Osceola Cemetery.
Ronnie will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family
