Roy L. Jones, 59, of Elkhart, passed away at 9:25 am, Monday, June 25, 2012 in Elkhart General Hospital after losing a battle with cancer. Roy was born on February 18, 1953 in Point Pleasant, MO, but lived in Elkhart for the last 30 years of his life. On August 25, 1973, he married Willie R. Lemons.
He leaves to treasure his memory his wife, Willie R. Jones of Elkhart; daughter, Edna Ja''Mel Jones and son Nathaniel L. Jones, both of Elkhart and four grandchildren, Alexis Anway, Jalencia Lemons, Joshua Lemons, and Joshiah Lemons. A son, Jay R. Lemons preceded him in death. Other family members include four sisters, Anna Lyle, Hattie Johnson, and Ethel Pearl Maxwell all of St. Louis, MO and Doris Houston of West Memphis, AR. He will also be missed and fondly remembered by his many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, July 6, 2012 in the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Carmona officiating.
