Russell J. Cornwell, 44, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:40 pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart. Russell was born on November 6, 1965 in South Bend, IN to Jerry Cornwell and Mary (Woods) Parker. On September 8, 1984, in South Bend, he married his wife, Tamikia, who survives, along with two sons, Russell (Stephanie) Cornwell, Jr. and Troy (Deangela) Cornwell, both of Elkhart, and five grandchildren, Alex, Calvyn, Rylee, Zoey, and Shayle. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Parker of Elkhart and two sisters, Nancy (Roger) Lykins of Knoxville, TN and Susan Parker of South Bend. He is preceded in death by his father, and on grandson, Zachery Cornwell, who passed away on November 11, 2008.
Russell was a mechanic and worked for many years at Four Seasons Housing in Middlebury. He was a volunteer fireman and ambulance in Niles, MI and will be remembered for his love of riding Harley Davidson''s.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, is handling arrangements.
