Ruth Eileen Anderson, age 87, of Osceola, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Ruth was born May 31, 1926 in St. Joseph County to the late Ora R. and Clara E. (Bunger) Ames. Her husband, Gayle K. Anderson preceded her in death, passing away in August of 1986.
Ruth is survived by her grandchildren, Lisa (Michael) Gerndt of Granger, Bobby (Shelley) Anderson of Elkhart, Michael (Carey) Anderson of Osceola, Matthew (Erin) Anderson of Granger, Daniel (Ali) Anderson of Indianapolis, and Sara (Kyle) Drake of Elkhart. Also surviving are 16 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her daughter-in-law, Debra Anderson of Osceola survives as well. Preceding her in death were her sons, Ora Anderson and Orville Anderson, her siblings Dorothy Barr, Martha Clark, Robert Ames, and Raymond Ames, and 2 grandchildren, Jeffery and Byron Anderson.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the 7:00 pm funeral service on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Ruth was employed for over 20 years at Bercliff Industries in Mishawaka, retiring in the late 1980''s. She enjoyed spending Winters in Florida, going to the Casino, and bowling. She was also a longtime member of the Antique Motorcycle Club in South Bend.
In her memory, donations may be made to either the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
