Ruth was employed for many years as a welder, and later in the housekeeping department; first at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, and later part time at Hubbard Hill Estates in Elkhart. She grew up on a farm, and was a "farm girl" at heart, enjoying the outdoors, and taking in animals to care for. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, all year. Ruth was also very generous, loving and friendly to those she met at her job and enjoyed helping people greatly. She attended Bethany Missionary Church in Elkhart for several years as well.
In her memory, the family''s preferred memorial is the American Cancer Society.
