Ruth L. Pringle, 95, of Elkhart, passed away at 11:25 pm, Monday, September 22, 2014 in East Lake Nursing Home, Elkhart. Ruth was born on December 21, 1918 in York, WI, the daughter of Oscar and Helga (Loveland) Larson. On November 5, 1937, she married Gail W. Pringle. He passed away on January 5, 1980.
She is survived by Jim (Mary Lee) Pringle and Alan (Pat) Pringle, both of Elkhart; six grandchildren, Shelley Rody, Eric Pringle, Rebecca Pringle, Kraig Pringle, Andrew Pringle and Beth Ann Opperman; six great grandchildren, Lauren, Tyler, Alexandra, Kirby, Konnor, and Kyrsten and three great great grandchildren, Abigail, Adriel, and Kahly. She is also survived by a sister, Audrey (John) McKeeth of Galesville, WI and a brother, David Larson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Jolinda Pringle and Nancy Anderson, granddaughter, Karen Lindsay, and five siblings, Ada Miner, Oma Bock, Amy Berg, Vera Mattson, and Wallace Larson.
Ruth was very active and enjoyed the creative arts, painting (Rosemaling-a Norwegian Folk Art) and baking, especially her sugar cookies and apple pie. In her younger years, she won the Miss Black River Forest beauty contest. Ruth was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and made "Grandma Ruth Blankets" for all her friends and family members.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 26, 2014 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
