Sachiko M. Marshall, 93, of Elkhart, died Sunday May 6, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital. A native of Japan, Sachiko was the oldest of nine children, born November 4, 1924 to Asao & Sada Matsumoto in Akina, on Amami-shoto in the Ryukyu Islands. On May 7, 1951, she married James R. Marshall in Okinawa; he preceded her in death on November 7, 2007 after  67 years of marriage. She retired from CTS in 1988 and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, exercising with friends and playing bingo.  Sachiko is survived by her son, Tim (Cindy) Marshall of Granger; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Chase) Booth of Granger and Stephanie (Tim) Solomon of Chicago and her great-grandchildren, Ethan & Amelia Booth.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by sons, Pat & Kim Marshall and all of her siblings. Funeral Services 10:00 Thursday May 10, 2018 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8pm in the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
