Sally Ann Foster, age 77, of South Bend, passed away at her home on Dec. 29, 2014. Sally was born May 12, 1937 to the late Ernest and Bertha (Sudlow) Foster in Mishawaka, IN. After graduating from Mishawaka High School in 1955, she obtained her Bachelor''s Degree in nursing from Robert Wesleyan University in Rochester, NY in 1959. Sally worked as a registered nurse throughout the Michiana area for many years, and used her medical skills to serve others through mission trips to New Guinea and around the world.
Surviving is her brother, Terry (Bev) Sudlow of Elkhart, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Dorothy (Robert) Kelver, Betty (Franklin) Overpeck, Lydia (David) Kelly, Raymond (Pat) Foster and Clifford (Peggy) Foster.
Sally was very talented, and musically inclined. She played the string bass in the high school orchestra, and played the piano and organ for congregational singing at First Baptist Church in Mishawaka, where she was a long time member.
Visitation will be held from 9- 11 am Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, or Wycliffe Translators.
