Sam T. Doi, age 88 of Mishawaka, passed away June 29, 2010 at his residence of natural causes. Sam was born November 30, 1921 in Pasco, Washington to the late Tomijiro and Ksen (Nakayama) Doi.
Surviving are his children, Keith Doi and his wife Mary, Kimberly Langkil and her husband Tim, and a step son, Brent Huffman. Sam is also survived by his grandchildren, Kamilah Holle, Sara Doi, Sean Doi, Andy Huffman, Amy Huffman, Justin Huffman, and Lucas Huffman, as well as his sister, Mary Hiramatsu. Sam was preceded in death by his siblings, John and George Doi, and Alyce Itow.
Visitation will held from 4-8 pm Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 2, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Sam was the owner of Sam Doi Concrete Construction for over 35 years until his retirement in 1988. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing cards, shopping for bargains, and working in his garden.
