Obituary

Samantha Faye Anne Fox, age 24, of Clackamas, Oregon, passed away Friday, August 30th, 2013. Born July 15th, 1989 in Elkhart, Indiana, Samantha is survived by her mother, Kathleen Fox of Elkhart, her siblings, Misty Fox of Elkhart, Tessa Gray of Vandalia, Michigan, Chandra Fox and Tyler Fox of Elkhart, nieces Kegan and Tatum Gray, nephews Caden Sheets, Keaton Gray, Nathaniel and Ezekiel Fox, and Gabriel Mota. Also surviving are her grandparents who raised her, Donald and Janet Dalton of Bristol, Indiana, great-grandmother Dorothy Church, Aunts Jana Beth J. Dalton-Dorsey, Darlene Brown, Sherry Fox, Uncles Anthony W. Dalton, Chester Fox Jr., and Roger Fox, as well as her cousins Alexandria Dalton, Janet Lee Price, Emily Price, Amy Otis, Crystal Keller, Michelle Brown, Nichole Brown, Casey Fox, Devin Brown, Jennifer Smithson, and Christy Fales.

Her father Donald W. Dalton II, grandparents Elizabeth and Chester Fox Sr., great-grandparents George A. and Della Dalton, great-grandfather Joseph C. Church, Uncle David Fox, and Aunt Angela Sweetay all preceded her in death.

Samantha, a 2008 graduate of Elkhart Central High School where she was active with the band, playing the trombone and was in the flag corps. Sam was outgoing, adventurous and ambitious, but most of all she was brave. A few years after graduation she left Indiana, drove across the United States by herself to Vancouver, Washington, and enrolled in a flight attendant program. After completing the program she moved to Portland, Oregon and obtained a job at BCD Travel as a Corporate Travel Agent.

Samantha was known for her infectious smile and lively personality. She loved meeting new people and could make friends everywhere she went. She was passionate about animals and adored her guinea pigs, Chip and Rocky. She loved to travel, visit Walt Disney World, and watching Disney movies. She enjoyed reading several books at a time, expanding her knowledge, and challenging herself. She was recently accepted to Portland State University where she planned to pursue a teaching degree. After graduation she planned to travel to China and teach English with her dear friend, Sarah Detlef.

There will be two hours of calling prior to the 12pm memorial service on September 7th, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana. In her memory, donations may be made to any Humane Society.
