Obituary

Samuel Francis Belardinella, "Sam the Barber", 75, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at his home in Niles, Michigan. He was born December 3, 1935 in Bound Brook, NJ to Patrick & Carmella (Mangino) Belardinella and graduated from Bound Brook High School in1954. Sam enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. A Barber-Stylist for over 50 years, Sam received his license at the Philadelphia Institute of Barbering in 1957. An avid pigeon flyer for most of his life, he belonged to pigeon clubs in Indiana, Michigan and New Jersey. Raising Brittany Spaniels and English Pointers for field trails, he saw one of his dogs become a champion. His greatest love was Notre Dame football and 'outcoaching the coaches'. A member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger, he served as a Euchristic Minister for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Belardinella. Survivors include his wife, Bobbi; five sons, Douglas (Lori), Ken (Sandy), Jim, Gary (Debbie) and Brett Belardinella; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Lauren, Dominic, Mark, Michael, Brianna and Vince; his sister, Patricia (Bob) Ruggeri of Myrtle Beach, SC and five nieces & nephews, Bob Ruggeri, Lori Bisceglia, Lynn Ruggeri, and Brian & Kelly (Belardinella) Rys. Mass of Christian Ressurection Friday 11:30 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, where friends may call one hour prior to Mass. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements through Chapel Hill Funeral Home. The family's preferred memorial is St. Jude Chilren's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 - Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
