Samuel E. Cox, Sr., 62, of Elkhart, died on November 14, 2018 in Parkview Regional Medical Center.  He was born on November 26, 1955 in Marion, Indiana to William D. and Bethel L. (Mock) Cox.  On January 18, 1975, Sam married Gisele Burgess and she survives.  Sam graduated from Northfield High School in 1973 and Ivy Tech, majoring in Industrial Technology, in 2003.  He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Manchester and was a youth group leader, and Assistant Scoutmaster.  Sam enjoyed golfing, fly fishing, and boating.  After the death of his father, Sam was raised by his mother and stepfather Richard Walker. Sam is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gisele; his children, Samuel Edwin (Megan) Cox, Jr. of Fort Wayne and Tashia (Rolando) Arteago of Anderson; four grandchildren, Gabe, Aiden, Sofia, Francisca; his siblings, Ruth Schoeff, Dave Cox, Tony Cox, Kim Erne, Joe Walker, and Beth Walker Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Friends and family will be received on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 3-7 PM in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561.  A funeral service in Sam's honor will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11 AM in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 113 West Main Street, North Manchester, IN  46962 with burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.  To leave an online condolence or sign the guest book, please visit www.chapelhillmemorial.com.
