Sandra Kaye Moore, 73, of Elkhart, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. The Mishawaka native was born August 1, 1943 to Edward and Luella (Zumbaugh) Thomson, who have both preceded her in death. On August 10, 1960, Sandra married Wayne Arthur Moore, who preceded her in death on June 8, 2014. Sandra helped to handcraft musical instruments for over 35 years at Gemeinhardt Instruments. Sandra enjoyed garage sales, camping, and yard work. She loved her 1957 Chevy and attending car shows. Sandra is survived by her children, Maureen (Richard) Parker of Mishawaka, Maurice "Rick" (Tammy) Moore, Nila (Mark) Myrick, Doreen (Ken Martin) Jones; seven grandchildren, Roman, Jason, Brittany, Leon, Kyle, Celsey, Brianna; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Chloe, Colt; and her siblings, Patricia (Craig) Meunink of Mishawaka, Richard (Maureen) Thomson of Edwardsburg, and Nile (Cathy) Thomson of Jenison, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 53 years, Wayne. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. There will be a funeral in Sandra''s honor on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Whittaker officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family''s preferred memorial is to Elkhart Hospice House, 22579 Old US 20, Elkhart, IN 46516.
