IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon L.
Boros
April 28, 1936 – November 18, 2023
The world has lost a bright light in the death of Sharon Boros. Sharon, 87, of South Bend, passed away peacefully the evening of November 18, at the Center for Hospice in Mishawaka, her eldest daughter by her side. Many of her loved ones were able to be at her bedside along with her devoted husband in the days prior to her passing. She was and forever will be loved immensely.
Sharon Louise (Rutter) Boros was born in Muncie, Indiana, on April 28, 1936, to Helen Louise (Lambert) and James Carlton Rutter. As a child, Sharon loved to dance and perform and she absolutely adored her dog, Two Spot. As a graduate of Muncie Central High School, class of 1954, she dreamed of being a clothing designer. Although that dream did not come to fruition, Sharon spent her life creating clothes not only for her daughters, granddaughters, niece, and grandniece but also for their Barbie dolls! She had a true talent in front of a sewing machine and with a crochet hook.
Sharon's marriage to the late Jerry Vance Crow gave her two daughters, Kathleen Kaye (Crow) Boros and Karon Kyle (Crow) Molenda. After her divorce, she enrolled in Ball State University and graduated in 1968. With her daughters in tow, she moved to South Bend where she was employed with the Patricia Stevens School for Girls, a modeling and finishing college. There, Sharon taught young women how to be a proper lady in mannerisms and appearances while also teaching secretarial skills and bookkeeping. Sharon took those skills herself and entered the business world as a secretary at Bendix Corporation in South Bend where she thrived, being promoted so many times they joked that they needed to create new job titles for her!
On August 31, 1983, Sharon married her true partner in life, Robert Boros, recently celebrating over 40 years together. Sharon will be fondly remembered for her love of family, her unending support of others, her insane love of cats, internet shopping and Coca-Cola, for her sassy and ornery attitude, a lead foot in the driver's seat, and of course her passion for a good book. Among the hobbies already mentioned, Sharon also enjoyed puzzle books, staying up until all hours of the night with Bob watching TV, and creating/selling porcelain dolls in a side business with her daughter Kathy.
Sharon is survived by her fiercely loving and supportive husband, Bob; her two daughters Kathy (Bob) Boros and Karon (Lance) Molenda; step-sons Mark (Karen) Boros, Steven (Danielle) Boros, and a step-daughter Tammie (Dave) Carl; a brother Dave (Marilyn) Rutter; nephews Scott (Anne) Rutter, Jeff (Gale) Rutter and a niece Suzanne (Brian) Everett. Together, Robert and Sharon share 18 grandchildren: Kym (Jason) Bango, Kelly (Jason) Wisniewski, Jared Molenda, Braelyn (Coty) Ensign, Mike (Tonya) Carl, Jennie (Mike) Gorsuch, Katie Carl, Kristi Boros, Jamie Boros, Nichole (Justin) Ross, Bethany Boros, Alexiah Boros, Mason Boros, Brantley Boros, Kaedyn Boros, Emmareigh Boros, Kysen Boros, and Sahylor Boros; 15 great grandchildren: Adam Sharpe, Kevin Bango, Cady Bango, Dexter Wisniewski, Sydney Wisniewski, Lacy Ensign, Audrey (Isaiah) Stouder, Regan Carl, Chase Carl, Logan Carl, Owen Gorsuch, Will Gorsuch, Jerry Chambers, Ariel Chambers, Nevaeh Boros, as well as two great grand-babies on the way.
