ELKHART-Sharon Oberg, 75 of Elkhart passed away at Sprenger Nursing Facility in Mishawaka Saturday afternoon. Sharon was born to Raymond and Bernice (Smith) Gaugler in Osceola. She would meet and marry John Oberg in Kankakee, IL. She traveled with her husband in the military for many years. She had lived in the Michiana area since 1973. Sharon enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and doing outdoor yard work. She liked staying in touch with all of her relatives and was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears football fan. Sharon once had a cat named Shadow, that was very special to her but her greatest love of all was her children and grandchildren. Sharon is survived by her husband, John, two daughters, Tina (Danny) Qualls, Tracy (Lance) Stutzman along with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings. Friends and family may call Wednesday, April 20 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN, 46561. A funeral service will immediately follow with Chaplain Andy Williams officiating. The families preferred memorial is DAV of Elkhart 1205 Middleton Run Rd, Elkhart, IN 46516 in Sharon's memory.
