Sharon K. Schloemer, 78, of Mishawaka, died Thursday April 26, 2018. The South Bend native was born February 9, 1940, the daughter of Eugene & Lucille (Harmless) Crynes. A graduate of Washington-Clay High School, Sharon married Jon A. Schloemer in South Bend on August 4, 1967. He survives after 50 years of marriage. Sharon was a Veterinary Technician and retired from the Animal Hospital of South Bend.  Sharon loved to travel, but was devoted to her family; she cherished the time spent with Jon and the children & grandchildren, and caring for her loving dog, Maggie May. Sharon loved hosting family dinners and most especially those at the holidays. She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge in South Bend and the Moose Lodge in Elkhart. In addition to Jon, Sharon is survived by their children, Carey Schloemer, Theresa Carpenter and Christine (Jeff), all of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Myers of South Bend, Andrew Schloemer in Kentucky, Cara Lynn (Brett) Ortiz in Colorado and Scott Carpenter of Mishawaka; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Audrey, Savannah & Samuel Myers and Callan Ortiz; sisters, Barbara Baker-Stetson & Mona (Dallas) Bergl, both in Florida and her brother, Ron (Sue) Crynes in Arkansas. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Kristin. Funeral Services 10:00 Monday, April 30, 2018 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call Sunday from 1-5pm in the funeral home. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
