Sharon L. Yoder, age 53, of Elkhart, passed away at her son''s home in Osceola on Sunday, January 16, 2011 following an extended illness. Sharon was born March 9, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Earl Qualls and Joan (Bell) Lard. On June 27, 1992, Sharon married Steven Yoder in Elkhart, Indiana.
Steven survives, along with Sharon''s son, Earl Williams and his wife Shawna of Osceola and three grandchildren; Ashleigh, Amber and Seth Williams. Also surviving are her sisters, Catherine Fearnow and Deborah Myrick, both of Elkhart, and Cynthia Lowrance of Savannah, Tennessee. Surviving as well is her step-father, Billie Lard of Elkhart and her step-daughters, Brandy Yoder of Elkhart, and Jenny Yoder of Mexico, and seven step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Donald Earl Qualls and her sister Donna Ann Qualls.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Pastor Ed Ritchie will officiate the funeral service at 10:00 am Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Sharon was employed for over 25 years as a nurse''s aid. She enjoyed collecting dolls and bears and crocheting. She was a member of the Elkhart County Community Baptist Church for many years as well. Sharon also enjoyed going to the many festivals in the area throughout the year. She was a fan of many types of music, and also was an avid animal lover, usually having several dogs in her care at a time. Sharon was especially fond of her three grandchildren, and enjoyed spoiling them as they''ve grown.
