ELKHART, IN- Shelby J. Payne, age 81, passed away on August 19, 2019 at her home.

She was born March 29, 1938 in Hughes Creek, West Virginia to the late George Corbett and Loraine June (Kimbler) Hudnall. On September 9, 1983 Shelby married Ray E. Payne and with this happy union they were blessed with four beautiful daughters that Ray loved as his own. She was a proud member of DAV Chapter 19. Shelby was an avid bingo player and loved going to the casino. She enjoyed garage selling, puzzles, dancing, country music, cooking and spending time with family.

Shelby is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Tom) Shalley of Elkhart, IN, Darlene (Jerry) Kingery of Elkhart, IN, Angie (Roy) Lang of Wasilla, AK, and Stacy (Todd) Moore of Howe, IN; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Payne of Elkhart, IN, Dottie Rucker of Elkhart, IN, and Maria Hudnall of Cassopolis, MI; brothers, Monty Hudnall of Charleston, WV, David Hudnall of Orlando, FL, and Teddy (Kerri) Hudnall of San Bernadino, CA; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Lois Fernatt and Dreama Gail; brother, Mark Lane; sisters-in-law, Sharon Hudnall, Vonda Hudnall and her beloved dog, Cody.

Funeral will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 Mckinley Hwy., Osceola, IN. Friends may visit from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
