Shirley Lou Friesner, 77, of Granger, passed away at 7:03 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2012 in her home. Shirley was born on February 19, 1935 in Elkhart. On April 5, 1953, she married Byron "Barney" W. Friesner, who passed away on June 19, 2010.
Shirley is survived by four daughters, Yolanda Emley, Brenda Friesner, Cheril (James) Sadural and Darlyne (Russell) Toombs, all of Granger; six grandchildren, Allyson (Braden) Hurley, Aaron (Lindsay) Courtney, Adrienne Sadural, Alex Sadural, Kyle (Kelsey) Toombs and Kendra Toombs and one great granddaughter, Maddilynn. She is also survived by two sisters, Gloria Decker of South Bend and Joan Strope of Osceola.
Shirley was a lifelong member of Osceola Brethren Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and canning. She also enjoyed IU Basketball and keeping up with current events, but most of all, she enjoyed spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, October 1, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the funeral home. Rev. Greg Serafino will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
