Shirley Jean Morgan, 91

Shirley Jean Morgan, 91, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at Majestic Care in Goshen, following a brief period of declining health, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on February 28, 1935, in Horton, Michigan, at her family home, to the late Robert and Marian (Lamont) Bryden.

Shirley was preceded in death by her daughters, Deborah (Paul) Beasley and Marian Morgan; her son-in-law, Terry VanWormer; and her brothers, John Bryden, Robert Bryden, and Wayne Bryden.

On November 16, 1956, she married the love of her life, William Morgan, in Albion, Michigan. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith. Shirley was a devoted member of Crossroads Community Church in Goshen.

She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, including attending concerts, playing cards, bowling, crocheting, and enjoying games of bingo. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family, who were the center of her world.

Shirley is lovingly remembered by her children, Sonia VanWormer, Sharon Sierra, Larry (Diana) Thacker, and Bryon (Rhonda) Morgan; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Arnold, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends, and extended family members.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana, with a funeral service to follow immediately at 2:00 PM.

Shirley will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Garden of Devotion, in Osceola.
